From my hotel room at Hyatt Place in Atlanta, Georgia…
I’ve been traveling a lot recently, and have been without my kettlebells while on the road. So I’ve had to improvise with body weight exercises for a quick hotel room workout — because I’m just not that into hotel fitness centers.
So here’s what I’ve done, and it’s worked pretty well to keep my conditioning up.
(Just finished a set and my heart’s thumping and my breath is heavy!)
My quick hotel room workout:
- Do 5 burpees (video below)
- Rest, counting to 10 seconds
- Repeat 8 times back to back (roughly 4 minutes)
This is roughly equivalent to a Tabata interval workout.
It engages many of your muscles in dynamic work. And the cardio on it is killer — despite the deceptive simplicity of the workout.
While on the road you should do this at least once a day — preferably 2-5 times for maximum benefit.
And you don’t have to use this as just a hotel room workout either, because this can be done anywhere, with no equipment needed.
Stay strong!
Roy
P.S. — Here’s the video of burpees, if you’re not familiar:
