Kettlebells rock – if I’m working away from home one of the first things I pack in the boot is a 16 or 20kg bell – they’re so flexible that they can supplement even the weakest hotel gym.
Be careful though – they can be dangerous – the wife nearly killed me when 200 kilos of cast iron I hadn’t told her about arrived at the door a few weeks back!
Kettlebells are the truth, been working with them for a couple of years. Started with the 35lb, now up to pressing the 88lb for a rep or two…working up to The Beast (106lb). Great tool and I tell anyone I can about them. Work on proper technique and gains will come.
Can’t say enough about kettlebells. I am in the best shape of my life at 42 and I owe it to kettlebells!
Just starting on kettlebells. Would love any tips.
About a year on kettlebells–between that and a clean diet, have managed to strip off about 50 lbs of unwanted mass, while building some serious guns. Not bad for a desk-jockey mom on the downhill slide to 50, huh?
been training and coaching with kettlebells for about 5 years. mindful, intentional training. kettlebells as a Way.
Gettin swoll off the strick diet n kettlebells!!!
I’m a kettlebell newbie so I’m interested in any useful training videos anyone many know about. Loving my kettlebells so far!
Can’t get enough! love the mechanics and versatility. i’m definately hooked.
Kettlebells rock for rehab, strength, and endurance!
iam 68 years old, male. work the bells with pushups and pullups four times a week
I love the bells!
Most people “lift” just to “lift”. If you want results, not just time in the gym. Kettlebells are the best way to achieve what Pavel calls the “what the hell” effect!!!!
kettlebells are by far the best training tool any serious strength trainer could hope for. So versitile, take up no space, simply love kettlebells!
kettle the most amazing training tool ever.
Did the 30/30 interval workout this morning. great workout. I am a certified kettlebell instructor and find this workout to be very challenging.

I do kettlebells and circus. one to develop in the second:-)
Life transforming! Started last December (2010) at age 51!
I have been using kettle bells for 3 years and I am 53. I have a figure most teenagers would be envious of, and workout with 8 12 and 16 kg 3 times a week for a real fast hard 30 minutes each session. It’s great I change my workouts each week so they never get boring and do it in my lounge listening to the TV or music.
Looking for a St. Louis lady to swing kettlebells with!
I’m loving my kettlebell class! Feeling stronger and having fun!
I am a certified kettlebell instructor living in Qatar, the only one out here as far as anyone knows! I have a fast growing client base and I’m always seeking new ideas and suggestions for workout routines etc.!
I am an adult who has lived with Dyspraxia (a disorder in fine motor skill development) and Asperger’s Syndrome (high functioning form of Autism) my whole life and since the day I first picked up a KB in ’05, I have seen nothing more than amazing progress in my physical/mental/emotional state of mind. I have difficulty interacting with others in any other sport/activity and I may not be able to ride a bike or run a marathon because of my disability, but I have a ton of confidence and can rock a KB just like pros!
I love my KBs!
Great Blog and very useful site full of great ideas.
I appreciate all the info provided here.
I’ve become a huge proponent of kettlebells over the past few years. And as I trainer myself I’m constantly looking to learn and research more.
I am a newbie kettlebell enthusiast who truly wants to obtain the RKC certification once I build my strength.
I picked up a kettlebell in aug. 07 since then I have become a believer. I became HKC certified last summer and am on my way to the april RKC in St. Paul. I surf, golf, run and did triathalons. I held a CSCS for 10 years, coached track and have taught Physical education for 25 years. Kettlebell training for me has been the fountain of youth. I’m 56 and more mobile, my overall strenght is excellent and my workout time is usually 35 minutes. We use KB,s in my PE classes and my three teenage athletes at home all train with kettlebells. I,m pleased to sign the wall.
It really looks great, will comment more later, workout time=Bill
Wow Martin — if you’re really aiming to make progress this year, I’m interested to hear your achievements! Cheers! Roy
My main training tool. Along with great coaching by Lee Mair (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK), Kettlebells have strengthened my back and core beyond belief.
After years of ‘back trouble’ i.e. weak core….I now do get-ups with a 16Kg kettlebell, and sets of deadlifts at 265lbs for up to 30 reps. This would have been impossible for me 5 years ago at the age of 50. I’m stronger now than I have been in my entire life, and kettlebells have helped to create that all over strength and endurance capacity.
I’m aiming to really make progress this year.
Hooked and powerfull!
I’m hooked for life!!!
I was working out with the regular weights like everyone else when I had a stroke, actually two at the same time in separate parts of my brain. to make a long story short I recovered most of my muscle and
nerve damage but not all of it. I also had blood pressure readings of 234/114. My doctor said I needed a workout that gave me anerobic and aerobic benefits at the same time to strengthen my heart and bring down my blood pressure. Well, it has been two years and a loss of 40lbs, blood pressure of 110/57
and all my muscle and nerve damage has been corrected. Oh! Yes a body weight of 276 at the above time
of the stroke. yep! It has been fun since I found dragondoor.com and received my first kettlebell. I am 70
year young now instead of 70 years old. I love them and will not work with anything else. I have done 200 reps with a 25,44,53 pound bell this year. I don’t know why everyone seems so surprised, because
I work hard. Well, that’s enough talking for now have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.
My wife and I have recently started swinging and working with kettlebells… We’re hooked. Can’t believe how much it has helped my lower body strength. Plus we can get in a quick workout at home when time is limited.
I use them almost everyday whether for myself or clients! So much easier to get a butt kickin workout done in 20 minutes.
I’m a certified Personal Trainer who works a lot of hours with different populations in multiple locations. I use Kettlebells every day; it would be really difficult for me to train clients efficiently without them. They are another mandatory piece of equipment in the tool box. Thanks for all of the great info!
Trevor,
Just last month I saw a kettlebell magazine on the news stands here in Ames, IA called Kettlebell Magazine (imagine that!)… I know it was the first issue. Not sure if it’s a monthly, or quarterly, or what. Google may be able to tell you.
UPDATE: This might be it… http://www.kettlebellmag.com/Subscribe.html
